Hello, my name is Katie Watson.
At wats-on your mind counselling, I believe that everyone has the potential to lead a happy and fulfilling life. This philosophy is grounded in the understanding that mental and emotional well-being are essential components of overall health, and that therapy can be a powerful tool in achieving balance. By taking the time to prioritise yourself and your relationship with yourself, you open the door to healing and personal growth.
Trained in the humanistic Person-Centred approach, I place you, the client, at the heart of our sessions. My aim is to build a trusting and supportive relationship, creating a safe space where you can feel accepted and understood. This allows you to connect with your feelings and explore anything that concerns you without fear of judgment. I provide a non-judgmental, confidential environment that supports your journey of self-discovery and personal growth . Together, we will work at your pace to help you achieve a greater sense of well-being and fulfilment.
I offer both short-term and long-term counselling, available face to face, online, by phone, or through nature walks, for adults and young people aged 18 and over.
We begin with a free initial consultation, where we can determine if we are a good fit to work together. During this session, we’ll explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to achieve, and how I can support you. Counselling is typically arranged on a weekly, open-ended basis, with sessions continuing until you feel ready to conclude.
Fee: £45 per 50 minute session

I am a qualified Person-Centred counsellor, but I approach therapy from a pluralistic perspective. This means I believe you are the expert of your own experience, and as each client is unique, their needs in counselling will differ.
I have experience working with young people in a secondary school setting and with adults referred to a mental health charity in Cambridge. I have provided both long- and short-term therapy, addressing a wide range of challenges.
In addition to my private practice, I continue to work with the charity in two roles: as a Therapist and Therapeutic Practitioner. I support young people and their families, taking a systemic approach, to help those affected by trauma, abuse, and financial hardship. It is a profoundly rewarding experience to work with these families and has deepened my understanding of the lasting effects of generational trauma.

Please reach me at katie@wats-onyourmind.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Counselling begins with you choosing who you would like to work with. If you are interested in finding out more about wats-on your mind counselling then contact me via email, phone or text. You can also simply click the contact button on the website to send an enquiry.
An introductory session is the next step. During this chat I will find out more about you and what support you are looking for and you will find out more about how I work and how I am as a person. If we decide to work together then we will schedule weekly sessions where we will meet in person or remotely for 50 minutes.
How many sessions a client needs is as personal and unique as they are and through private practice there is the freedom for you to have counselling as long as you need it. Some people choose to have counselling to address a specific issue, which might be concluded for them in 12 sessions, others are looking for shorter or longer term support. We will review the counselling experience regularly and talk together about when the time is right to end, you can of course choose to stop at any time but it is safer to end in a planned and thoughtful way.
I work with anyone from the age of 18 upwards.
Should I feel through our introductory discussions however that there are other professionals who would be better placed to support you with specific difficulties, then I would be open and honest about referring you.
48 hours notice is needed to cancel a session or a fee will be charged. The details of this will be agreed in the contract that we sign at the start of our work together.
I accept cash, debit cards and bank transfers for face-to-face sessions.
For online sessions I accept bank transfers.
We will give each other notice of holidays and lack of availability, at least two week's notice, so that we can factor in breaks to our work together.
I am based in Hail Weston, a village just outside the town St.Neots. There is a bus route from St.Neots to the village. My private practice is accessed just off the B645, there is parking available and sessions are held in a ground floor room in my home. Exact details will be provided at initial contact.
Based in a rural location near St.Neots
